What a ride!! Wow, I have to say "Casey" is a woman to be admired! How does Casey connect with so many people, so deeply, and she is able to repay all the favors she calls for I look forward to finding the rest of the books in this series, building a fire , making some hot tea and reading them all in one night!!!! Jul 18, Helene Slowik rated it liked it. A fun series with a main character to love - she's middle aged, overweight, not pretty and has to hide her past as she works as a private investigator without a license.

It seemed like the right recipe for me with mystery and humor, but I found myself not reading as much and not looking forward to reading more of the story. I finally decided to just delete the series and move on. I think the problem was that I just didn't care for the characters. May 17, Donna Lambie rated it it was amazing. I loved her wise cracks both inside and outside her head. There were a few moments that I had to laugh out loud. Okay I snorted too.

I have read five novels in a row all staring Casey and not once felt bored. The characters are full, dimesioned and likeable, the plots are feasible and well told. The telling never bogs the tension seldom ceases My only complaint is there were only five novels in the set. Apr 27, Carol Darling rated it it was amazing. Good series Casey is a modern girl with few inhibitions. She is a good PI. Problem is she has a record, caused by a drug selling ex-husband who left her to take the fall for him.
There is a little romance in this book but it is a sidebar by the focus. Lived the series, and watching Casey grow throughout them.

This series of books are unputdownable! Casey is a fantastic character with a whole lot of layers to her. The other main-ish characters are great as are the characters who only appear in one book. I might just read them again very soon.
